y: I am 29 too.

Two sets of high-spec cameras, microphones, and screening equipment are carefully installed in South and North Korea each. Through these devices, x and y first meet and attempt to communicate. The devices function as channels of communication but at the same time, intentionally, paradoxically, and choreographically disturb the rendezvous. Yet, with the help of a transparent and practical device system, the audiences witness the entire process of this incidental interaction that occurs between the two actors.

Performance
This is an experiment in telepathy between two young people from South and North Korea. Due to the current tension between the two parts, we need to place the location 46.3 kilometers(28.8 miles) away from the original plan. We contacted a smuggler to find two North Koreans to be part of our performance. We have met and worked with them without knowing where they really belong to.
For the safety of the performers, we are obliged to strictly forbid any recording of images and sound during the show. We are the only ones witnessing this communication.
The show is divided in four parts of 15 minutes. Please use your earplug in the second part.

Part 1
x and y are in two different places, but they share 3 objects and 3 movements. They are testing their telepathic abilities by trying to do the same. x and y can hear but can not see each other.

Part 2
x and y have a conversation. x and y can see but can not hear each other.

Part 3
x the sender will mentally transmit the message to y the receiver. The message is thought and written down live. The receiver gets the message through telepathy and performs it.

Part 4
x and y will exchange roles.

실험적 연극

남과 북의 특정 장소에 은밀하게 설치될 두 벌의 고성능 카메라, 마이크, 스크린 장치를 통해 x와 y는 처음으로 서로를 만나 소통을 시도한다. 장치는 소통의 채널로 작용하는 동시에 고의적, 역설적 그리고 안무적으로 둘의 완전한 만남을 방해한다. 하지만 관객들은 실용적이고 투명한 시스템을 통해 두 배우 사이에 일어나는 우발적인 사건을 여과 없이 목격한다.

x와 y는 첫 만남의 순간에 텔레파시를 이용해 주변의 물건들과 놀고, 움직임을 만들어내며 대화를 한다. 송신자와 수신자를 번갈아 가며 가정한 체, 그들은 특정한 정보를 우리가 알고 있는 어떠한 감각적인 소통 방법이나 신체적인 접촉없이 서로에게 전송한다. 'x: 나는 B가 좋던데. / y: 나도 스물아홉이야.'는 디자인 오브젝트, 과학적 경험, 실용적인 농담 그리고 대담한 실시간 즉흥극이다.

퍼포먼스

본 공연은 남, 북의 두 젊은이가 시도하는 일종의 텔레파시 실험입니다. 최근 좋지 않은 남북 상황에 의해 북쪽 공연장소를 원래 계획된 곳 보다 북동쪽으로 46.3 킬로미터 이동하여 진행하게 되었음을 알려 드립니다.

제작팀은 밀수업자에게 공연에 출연할 두 명의 북한사람 소개를 부탁했고, 그들의 정확한 신분과 정보는 아무도 알지 못합니다.

배우들의 안전을 위하여 공연 도중 음향, 사진 및 영상 촬영을 삼가해 주심을 정중히 부탁 드립니다. 오직 이 시간, 이 자리의 우리들만이 이 소통의 증인입니다.

공연은 각 15분의 4막 으로 나뉘어져 있습니다. 입장시 나누어 드린 이어폰은 제 2막에서 사용하여 주십시오.

제1막

x 와 y는 지금 이 순간 서로 다른 두 곳에 있다. 그들은 3개의 물건과 3개의 동작을 공유한다. 그들은 같은 물건을 사용하여 같은 동작을 수행하기 위하여 노력하며 그들만의 텔레파시 능력을 테스트 한다. x 와 y는 서로 들을 수는 있으나 볼 수는 없다.

제2막

x 와 y는 대화한다. x 와 y는 서로 볼 수는 있으나 들을 수는 없다.

제3막

x 송신자는 정신적으로 메시지를 y 수신자 에게 전송한다. 메시지는 실시간으로 어딘가에 적혀진다. 수신자는 그 메시지를 볼 수 없는 체, 텔레파시를 통해 전달받아 안무한다.

제4막

x 와 y는 서로의 역할을 바꾼다.
